No, I am currently NOT accepting new patients. I have recently left private practice and will be involved in direct patient care at UCLA's Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center. For referrals to other physicians you may call Cynthia (my front office assistant) at (310) 306- 6966 extension 202. Or you may contact me though my website.
What should I bring with me to my first appointment with you?
On the day of your very first visit please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment time in order to register and provide/update any information that may be required by your particular insurance carrier. Please bring any pertinent medical records with you as well as a list of your current medications.
Do you take urgent care or same day appointments?
Yes. I actually set aside some time every day for same day or urgent care visits. If there is an urgent need to see me the same day, please try to call at the start of my office hours (8:00 a.m.) and my staff will assist you in setting up a same day appointment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
24 hours notice of a cancellation is appreciated.
How do you communicate with your patients regarding their lab and test results?
All lab and test results are emailed or mailed to you within two weeks of completion. Abnormal results or those of an urgent nature will be phoned directly to you as soon as the results are available. If there are any questions about your test results you may email me by clicking here.
What is your medication refill policy?
Routine prescription renewals: Please contact your pharmacy directly and they will use our fax-back service to renew your prescription
New prescriptions: Please call and speak to a member of my staff at (310) 306- 6966 extension 202. Make sure you have the phone number of your pharmacy when you call.
Please note: I do not renew routine prescriptions or narcotic prescription after-hours as your records are not available for me to review. You may leave a voice mail message with your pharmacy or my front office assistant so that your prescription can be refilled during usual business hours.
Please do not email me for me with prescription refill requests.
What are your office hours?
As I am now currently wokring at UCLA's Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center please feel free to contact the office for the office hours of the other physicians in the group.
Do you do hospital work? What are your hospital affiliations?
I participate in outpatient medicine only. In other words in the rare case that you are hospitalized, one of my trusted colleagues from my group will coordinate your inpatient care.
If you have PPO Insurance: You can elect to go to the hospital of your choice. I am affiliated with UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital and frequently recommend this hospital (or St John's Hospital in Santa Monica) should inpatient care be needed. The quality of medical care at these two hospitals is unsurpassed.
If you have a managed care plan or HMO Insurance: You are contracted to go to Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital or Centinela Medical Center.
What should I do if I have an after-hours emergency?
In life-threatening situations, such as a heart attack or traumatic injury, dial 9-1-1 for fast paramedic assistance, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. Always err on the side of caution. It is far better to go to the hospital and turn out to be fine than to not go and find yourself in a life-threatening situation.
For situations less urgent but still necessitating communication with a doctor, you may call my office and I will paged. For medical issues that arise on the weekend my office is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 12 noon. You may call (310) 306-6966 on Saturdays to set up an appointment, but walk-ins are welcomed as well. I work several Saturdays a month as do my colleagues.
What is your patient population like?
A majority of my patients are female and most of my male and female patients are between the ages of 20 to 55. Though men make up a smaller segment of my practice they are welcome as well! My focus for all my patients is on preventive care. Getting and staying healthy so you can spend your time away from the doctor’s office is what my practice is all about.
What insurance plans do you take?
